Text Your List ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Text Your List service at app.textyourlist.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Contact data you upload. When you upload a CSV file, we store the phone numbers, names, and any other fields you include in that file on our servers so we can queue and deliver your messages. This data is associated with your account and is not shared with any third party.

Message content. The message templates and individual message bodies you create are stored on our servers to enable queueing and delivery. We do not read or analyze your message content for any purpose other than delivering it through your companion app.

Usage data. We track how many messages you've sent in a given billing period for the purposes of enforcing your plan limits. We also record your last active date and basic session information.

Billing information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. We receive a customer ID and subscription ID from Stripe to associate your plan with your account.

Desktop app data handling

Local processing. The Text Your List desktop app queues your messages on our servers but delivers them entirely through your own computer and phone. Message sending never touches our infrastructure. It routes from our servers to your companion app, which sends via your device's native messaging application and your personal phone number.

Contact data. When you upload a CSV file in the desktop app, your contact data (phone numbers, names, and any custom fields) is stored on our servers solely to enable message queueing and delivery. It is not shared with any third party, not used for advertising, and not retained after you delete your contact list or account.

Sending data stays on your device. The actual act of sending, including carrier authentication, SMS threading, and delivery receipts, happens entirely on your own phone. We have no access to your device's messaging app or phone number.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to provide and improve the Text Your List service, enforce plan limits, send transactional emails (such as password reset links), and respond to support requests. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your email, password hash, contact lists, templates, and message records. Some aggregate log data may be retained for a short period for debugging and security purposes.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics cookies. No advertising networks have access to your browsing activity on Text Your List.

Security

We use industry-standard practices including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and session tokens to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

Your choices

You can delete your contact lists and templates at any time from within the app. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at [email protected].
