The problem

Why group communication breaks down in ministry

Group threads become unmanageable

One group text to 60 members quickly turns into side conversations, missed replies, and confused "who is this?" responses. People disengage because the noise outweighs the signal.

Email open rates in churches average under 25%

Announcements sent by email reach a fraction of your congregation. Members miss service changes, event invitations, and urgent updates because the message never got opened.

Automated SMS tools feel robotic

Mass SMS platforms send from a shortcode nobody recognizes. When a message arrives from a random number, it does not feel like it came from the person leading your congregation.

The solution

How Text Your List works for churches and ministries

Every message goes out from your real number. Each member gets their own private text. Replies come back directly to you.

Sends from your personal number

Members receive a text from the number they already have saved for you. It looks like a personal message because it is one.

Works for iPhone and Android members alike

No matter what phone your congregation uses, everyone receives the message. No app to download, no account to create on their end.

Replies come back only to you

When a member replies, it comes to your phone as a private conversation. No one else in the congregation sees it. No reply-all chaos.

Upload your member list, write once, send to all

Import your roster from a spreadsheet, use {first_name} to greet each person by name, and send. The whole process takes minutes.

"98% of text messages are opened, compared to fewer than 25% of emails."

Questions

Common questions from church and ministry leaders

Does this work for congregations with both iPhone and Android users?

Yes. Text Your List sends standard SMS messages, so every member receives it regardless of their phone type. iPhone users on a Mac send through Apple Messages. Android users can send through Windows via Microsoft Phone Link, which is free and built into Windows 11.

Will members be able to tell this was sent to the whole congregation?

No. Each person receives their own individual text from your number. There is no indication it went to anyone else, and replies come back only to you. It reads exactly like a personal message.

Can I send from my personal cell number, not a church office line?

Yes, and that is exactly how most ministry leaders use it. The message comes from whatever phone you send from. Members who already have your number saved will see your name in their messages app.

How do I manage a large member list across multiple groups?

You can organize contacts into separate lists, youth group, small group leaders, full congregation, and send to each independently. Import from any spreadsheet. Most leaders keep a few saved lists and update them as membership changes.
